Home Minister Advani to Inaugurate ‘India My Love Week’ at Osho World Galleria

News Release
New Delhi, 11 August

Union Home Minister Shri L. K. Advani will inaugurate ‘India My Love’ Week at Osho World Galleria, Ansal Plaza, New Delhi at 6 p.m. on Monday, 13 August 2001. The name of this event from 13 to 19 August is inspired by Osho’s best-selling book with this title that is a collection of his unique insights on eternal spiritual India.

“India is not just geography or history. It is not only a nation, a country,

a mere piece of land. It is something more: it is a metaphor, poetry, something invisible but very tangible. It is vibrating with certain energy fields which no other country can claim,” says Osho.

Celebrating the indomitable spirit of resurgent creativity in the aftermath of massive destruction of the Gujarat earthquake, Osho World Galleria will exhibit and market home textiles (embroidered bed-sheets and pillow covers) made by residents of Gandhidham Relief Camp established by Shri Vinod Khanna, M. P. and an Osho disciple.

In addition, these Camp residents are embroidering textiles with modern designs for market orientation. This project is inspired by Osho’s teaching us to love life so tremendously that we can transform tragedies into constructive opportunities.

Shri Vinod Khanna will show Shri Advani these examples of rehabilitation handicraft work by Gandhidham Relief Camp from his constituency in addition to launching two of Osho’s books for this week. The Galleria will take on an appropriate look while continuing with its daily evening meditations.

Along with Osho’s ‘India My Love’ compilation of his insights, a similar book in Hindi, Bharat – Ek Sanatan Yatra, on the same lines will also be promoted. “India My Love” Week will highlight the eternal and spiritual India, in fact, the real India to invite people to discover just what it is about India that has made it a magnet for seekers for centuries and the importance of India’s unique contribution to our human search for truth.

“The real India is a quest of the inner most soul of man – not the geography, nor the political history, but the inner journey. The journey of meditation is the real India. Mahavir represents it. Buddha represents it. Krishna, Christ and Nanak – they represent the real India. And I have the heritage of all of them and much more,” declares Osho.
